She/Her/Hers

Story-telling through design, building, drawing, and writing.

Yang is a registered Architect with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC), practicing in Canada. She has led and managed a wide range of cultural, community, educational, hospitality and residential projects across British Columbia, including both complex remote and urban contexts.

Her work is driven by how spaces are experienced, remembered, and emotionally felt, and how the design intent is carried through development, documentation, and construction.

Her expertise also extends to business development and marketing, including award applications, federal and provincial funding applications, RFP proposal writing and submission, recruitment, and social media management.

Yang holds a Master of Architecture from the University of British Columbia (UBC), where her award-winning thesis, “Fenghuo: From Bloom to Harvest,” received the John Gaitanakis Prize in Architecture. With an industrial design background, Yang is passionate about creating meaningful interactions, narratives, and community connections through the built environment. Her design respect culture, land and people.

In her spare time, Yang enjoys traveling, exploring, and trying new food and experiences. She loves to draw and founded an independent design brand, Pupu’s Doodle Diary—an ongoing series of stories, illustrations, and products about Pupu, a polar bear from the Arctic who is curious, slightly confused, and exploring the world. Yang oversees illustration, product design, and manufacturing; develops the brand’s visual identity, including product graphics, packaging, and presentation; and manages sales partnerships with multiple retail locations.
